MEMORANDUM FOR
FROM: BEREA YOUTH SOCCER
CLUB EXECUTIVE BOARD
SUBJECT: Policy Directive,
1. The purpose of the policy outlined in this document
is to ensure teams representing the Berea Youth Soccer Club in area travel
soccer leagues, tournaments, and in-house programs are outfitted appropriately. Berea Youth Soccer Club is an independent
non-profit organization that is self funded, operated by a 100% volunteer Board
of Directors, and is in no way affiliated with the Berea City School District,
the City of Berea, or the City of Berea’s Recreation Department.
2. Travel Program Uniform Policy
a. All travel teams of the Berea Youth Soccer Club must
wear uniforms and accessories approved by the Berea Youth Soccer Club Executive
Board. New teams will wear approved
uniforms and accessories upon entry to the Club.
i.
The Berea Youth
Soccer Club Executive Board has selected Adidas uniforms and accessories as the
standard uniform kit for ALL Travel Teams.
No other kits or alternate packages will be allowed. The Board may change/adjust the approved
uniform kit as it deems necessary, however due to the need for long-term
consistency, the Board should only approve changes due to Adidas style changes
or major failure on the part of Adidas
a. Adidas was chosen because the lifespan of their uniform
styles is a minimum of 5 years (For instance, the uniform we have chosen has a
release date of 2008 and will be available at minimum until 2013). This ensures consistency within our program
and allows new players who join teams the ability to be sized and fitted for a
uniform that will match the rest of the team.
Currently, the uniforms we provide are mismatched. By ordering off-brands from companies that do
not specialize in soccer uniforms and gear, the pigments and colors change from
year to year and even though we order what we think is the same uniform the
colors often do not match and this creates a negative appearance of our
program.
ii.
Travel team
uniforms shall be at the discretion of the Executive Board and shall be colored
utilizing the Club colors. Red and White
iii.
The following is
the Berea Youth Soccer Club travel team uniform standard:
a. The following are mandatory uniform items: Adidas jersey / Adidas short/ AND Adidas socks. The
minimum kit order per player is the jersey, 1 pair of shorts and 1 pair of
socks.
b. Optional uniform items include an Adidas training
suit (any warm-up training suit with black top and black bottoms is acceptable)
and/or an Adidas backpack or sling bag in black.
c. Optional items are indeed optional. However, if bags will be purchased by a team/as
a team, they MUST purchase Adidas bags.
Teams will not be allowed to purchase these items from other brands or
purchase from other retailers.
iv.
Travel team
members will display the official Berea Youth Soccer Club logo on their uniform
shirts. Travel team members will display
“Berea Soccer” across the jersey chest in the official Club font, color and
size.
b. New teams and teams transferring to the Club’s travel
program must provide a signed statement that the team intends to adopt an
approved Berea Youth Soccer Club travel team uniform within 14 days of
acceptance into the clubs travel program.

provide league materials until the new team complies with this policy.

order. This does not include new player

for the recreational and munchkin programs.
The cost of these t-shirts is $5.00 and can be paid when registering a
player for the upcoming season. If a
player’s t-shirt fits from the prior season/year(s) then they do not have to
